Terms & Conditions

Confidentiality

Attendance & details of our private sessions will not appear on your NHS medical record. However, there may be occasions when it might be helpful to liaise with your GP (with your consent).

Limits: If I feel that you are at serious risk of harm to self or others (eg. imminent suicide risk, acts of violence, a medical emergency occurs during an attended session), or as a result of disclosed details of illegal activity, terrorism, trafficking, safeguarding risk etc., I reserve the right to breach confidentiality and report to the relevant authorities and / or seek urgent medical or protective attention on your behalf. This, where at all reasonably possible, would be discussed with you first. Such incidences are very rare.

Notes: Brief anonymised notes are kept securely for 6 years in accordance with GDPR / ICO guidelines.

Late attendance: Any missed time cannot always be recouped by extending the scheduled end time of the session; the session is likely to still finish at the time it was due to finish. If the session remains unattended after 15 mins without contact from you, I will assume the appointment to be cancelled.

Cancellations

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full (whatever the reason for cancellation) as the slot can not be re-allocated.

Payment is requested at least 24hr ahead of the session to confirm and hold the session. Payment can be made by online bank transfer or by credit card.

Health Insurance: I am sorry to advise that since 2018, I no longer accept private Health Insurance referrals only private self referrals.

EDI statement: I am committed to providing anti-discriminatory practice, equality, inclusion, and non-judgement across diverse types of clients and presenting issues in line with the Equlity Act 2010. I identify as a white straight female (she / her), and warmly welcome working with individuals who are both different to, and similar to, myself.

Quality assurance: Measures are in place to ensure I remain fit to practice. This includes monthly monitoring of my caseload, my own wellbeing and periodic practice audits. This is a requirement of my profession and is designed to keep the public safe. During QA personal client information remains anonymised.

Professional Insurance: My therapeutic work as well as other professional activities are insured with Towergate Professional Risks & I have annual advanced criminal records check in place which is required for those working with vulnerable people.

Guarantees The effects of therapy vary from person to person, therefore a cure or money back guarantee is not applicable.

Planned breaks: Please notify of any holidays or planned breaks with as much notice as possible to preserve the continuity and momentum of our work; I will do the same.

Charity & Community Support: I work for and / or support two to three charities each year. The charities I have chosen to support in 2023 are: The Ben Raemers Foundation suicide prevention (offering reduced rate concession sessions) & I’m All Ears, Hants (supervising practitioners, providing training at concession rates). I also offer free mentoring for a psychology undergraduate at Reading University each academic year and provide free Mental Health Awareness talks for local businesses and organisations (Surrey & Hants).
